Diabetics at Village Inn

Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.

You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. Stopped in for dinner when in St. George based on the reviews and a craving for a burger and was not disappointed! Cheeseburger and fries were great with the strawberry banana milkshake. My husband loved his party melt also and service (from both Dustin our waiter and hostess Perla) was superb. We took home pie for desert which was the definition decadence. Definitely recommend this restaurant for Classic American diner fare at a very good price.

Good place to grab a semi-late-night meal in Saint George. The food isn't anything special, but the service was friendly and fast and they have a great selection of pies if you're so inclined. I grabbed a chicken sandwich my first night in town, since everything else in the area was closed. It was a decent sandwich, but the fruit cup that was included seemed a bit anemic. Maybe it was due to the time and proximity to closing, because there was maybe six tiny pieces of melon and a grape in my fruit cup. The sandwich was tasty, though. I went back for a quick lunch during the week and got a summer berry salad, which could have used a little punching up as well. Their produce wasn't the most flavorful, but honestly it wasn't bad. A few in my group had some pie and seemed really happy. It is what it is, no-frills diner food and quite honestly that's good from time to time.

In college there was a Village Inn right by campus. Every family weekend before the parents would head back home we reveled in the homestyle cooking and of course the delectable pies. This Village Inn was no different and felt like coming home. The Veggie Omelet was fantastic and the coffee cup remained filled. It was the perfect last meal of a great quickie vacation.

We put in an order to go over the phone. When my husband got there to pick it up, there were 4 drinks with the order, instead of the 2 we'd ordered. He pointed out the mistake to the server, who told him with a smile that, no, the manager wanted everyone to get a free refill with their drink order. :-) The food itself was very good, but the service was excellent!

My recent houseguest had us at the Village Inn (twice in one week) at least once a week for a month! Her favorite was the free pie slice on Wednesdays. Her favorite was the cherry pie. But because you can get breakfast all day, our meals have been all over the place. It is the best no nonsense restaurant that could stand up to any diner along the highway. You can get what you want, when you want it. Extensive menu. Sometimes all you want is comfort food. The staff is pleasant (remember to tip them well). My aunt who is 91 was with us on two of the recent visits, she likes her food HOT, HOT, HOT, steam rising HOT. No problem, the wait staff didn't bat an eye, and she sat there blowing to cool her food, and enjoying every morsel. Thank goodness my guests didn't lick plates as they enjoyed every bit of pie on the plates.

I love this place I always come here when I visit from Calif. This place has the best pies and their food is tasty too! Everyone is so nice, I wish we had one at home :( My favorite pie here is Lemon SUUUUUUUUPREME! WHATS YOURS!

Starving after a long hike at Bryce Canyon, found this place located at St. George. There's 16 of us total so of course it took a long time to get each & every ones meal. Food was ok & their well-known popular "super delicious pecan pie" kinda' too sweet but it was ok, not that really to die for. Nevertheless service was good, Logan took care all of us well that's why he deserved a good tip.

Whenever I have a hankering to have breakfast for dinner, this place is great! Food always comes out hot. And the servers are friendly. My only complaint is that the bathrooms aren't always clean.

Being from CA we don't have them but we used to have Baker Square and they have the same pies as Baker Square. So I went here for breakfast pie and it was yummy!! When I am actually eating a full meal I love the tuna melt and also the turkey dinner. It all depends on how bad I want to be and if I am craving a tuna melt. I love coming here... can't wait to go back!! The service is always great!

Great Waffles and once breakfast selections but Eggs over-cooked, pancakes undercooked, Waitress seemed preoccupied and rushed. Maybe we caught them on an unexpectedly busy day.

The restaurant is next door to the Hampton Inn so you can walk. Bonus! It reminded me of a Bob Evans. Service was quick and our server was nice. She did not mind low-carb substitutions. Food was good and hot. Best part was the pie for dessert. We had cherry pie and strawberry rhubarb. Each was warmed and topped with whipped cream versus a la mode. Delicious! We will be back.

We were just passing through town and decided to come here after reading the yelp reviews. My husband was a bit disappointed that it was a diner, but apart from that he really liked his experience. The food was decent (he had a fish and chips, I had a grilled cheese sandwich and a basil tomato soup). The service was excellent. Thanks Dustin! They were also able to accommodate my husband's low-sodium diet partially by serving his French fries without salt (I tried them and they were really made of potato only. Usually industrial fries are made of salted mashed potatoes in the shape of fries, fried and salted again. Not these! Thumbs up!). We tried the Arnold Palmer and the strawberry lemonade, which were both vey nice. Tangy and sweet, but not too sweet. The grilled cheese was ultra-basic (not even cooked in butter on the outside) but the soup was very tasty.

Four stars for food-- typical diner quality food.. Prices not bad. Had breakfast so wasn't up for pie which looked amazing! Five stars for service!! Everyone was super friendly and helpful!

Service was great, hash browns tasty, sausage links grilled to perfection....but the crepes...so sad. They were tough and not spongy like crepes are supposed to be...I couldnt even cut with a fork. But, I would go back, I just wouldnt order the crepes.

A Gooood place. My husband missed Village Inn so much after moving to Souther California where there's no Village inn(as I know). So We went there after checking in to Hotel. Pretty empty around the dinner time. We order Salad and Hamburger and they were pretty nice. Waiter looked pretty tired and washed out. But he was still pretty nice to us, though.

As a freshman in college, my friends and I would head over at 2 in the morning to Village Inn and drink coffee for hours, sharing a few breakfast dishes or order after order of fries. Sometimes we'd grab a couple slices of pie and share while working on college course projects. Those were great days. Ten years later, here I am on the west coast instead of the Bible Belt, and what do I find only 2 hours from Las Vegas? A Village Inn! It brought back a lot of memories from my first few years of college, and that was a good thing. The food is average, nothing exciting, but the whole idea of having the same food tasting the same way it did 10 years ago at another location a few states away is comforting. Great place to stop for a bite to eat or for some pie with friendly service.

Sis and I were driving cross country early am and came across this place, just as they were opening. The breakfast really hit the spot, and the manager who opened was very friendly. It brought back memories of going to the VI in Columbia, MO after partying, and having breakfast with friends.

I love Village Inn so I am a little reluctant to write this review. Traveling from Vegas back to SLC and got take out to bring to my mothers house. Ultimate skillet was cold, mushrooms were literally raw and bacon looked like it had been out all night. California skillet, ordered to have veggies slightly cooked were raw and crisp. Cold potatoes and eggs undercooked. Strawberry crepe breakfast had cold hash browns and non- existent bacon. And all this after getting food 40 minutes after ordering. They were busy, but that is no excuse for putting food out like that.

This was the first Village Inn I've been to and it was quite good. Another one of my better half's old college hangouts that Las Vegas doesn't have but she insists on taking me to. Much better than a lot of chain restaurants in its market. Almost like a chain restaurant with feeling in its food. I had the Ultimate Breakfast which consisted of Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, Grilled Ham Steak and Hash Browns. It was a well prepared meal and the service was great, I couldn't ask for anything more.

The best place in town because they have all you need for breakfast lunch or dinner, and the staff is super friendly! You want a diner, this is it!

Since it was pouring rain and this place was right next to our hotel, we decided to give it a try. It's like a Denny's (but without the indigestion). I had the French toast and it was great. My wife had their berry waffle concoction and it was so good she wouldn't share! Also, Nicole was young and enthusiastic (I'm neither).
